Two men in court for stealing

An Okada rider, Segun Madahunsi, and a carpenter,  Moses Agboye, have appeared before an Okitipupa magistrates’ court for stealing.

The duo were brought before the court on a-three -count charge of criminal conspiracy, burglary and stealing.

The police prosecutor, Inspector Omoyegha Ayodeji told the court that Madahunsi and Agboye conspired together and broke into the house of one Mr. Azubike Uchennah on August 28, 2018,  between the hours of 6pm and 6am at Omokeji street, Okitipupa.

The offence was contrary to and punishable under section 516 of the criminal code cap 37 Vol. 1 laws of Ondo state of Nigeria 2006.

They  pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against them. The presiding Magistrate,  Mr D.O Ogunfuyi, granted each of the defendants bail in the sum of #200,000, with one surety in the like sum .

The surety, he added, must be a responsible and reasonable person who lives within the jurisdiction of the court with an evidence of tax payment for the current year.

Ogunfuyi, however, ordered their remand at the Okitipupa prison custody until their bail conditions were perfected.

The case was adjourned till October 26, this year for hearing.
