Two men, identified as Monday Akinmusere and Oluwaseun Akinmusere, have been arrested by operatives of the Ore Division for unlawful possession of a locally made pistol and a live cartridge.
According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Olushola Ayanlade, and made available to Hope Metro, the arrest was carried out on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at about 5:15 p.m., following a credible tip-off from a reliable source.
Acting promptly on the intelligence, the Divisional Police Officer in Ore led a team of operatives to a mechanic workshop located off Okitipupa Road, Ore, where the suspects were apprehended.
A search conducted at the scene reportedly led to the recovery of the firearm and the live ammunition.
Both suspects, who are residents of Ore, are currently in custody as investigations continue to uncover the source of the weapon and any possible links to criminal networks within the area.
Commending the operatives for their swift action, the Commissioner of Police, Ondo State Command, Mr. Adebowale Lawal, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to tackling crime across the state.
He also lauded community cooperation, urging residents to continue providing useful information that could aid law enforcement efforts.
