Two suspected Kidnappers arrested in Ondo

Men of the Ondo State Police Command have arrested two suspects over the kidnap of a couple, Mr and Mrs Gbenga Ibikunle who were abducted by unknown gunmen along Uso/Owo road, while travelling with their children from Ebonyi state to Akure.
The Hope Metro gathered that the kidnappers immediately whisked the couple into the forest leaving their three children they were traveling together behind.
It was learnt that when information got to the police division in Uso, policemen were mobilized to the scene of the incident where they met the children with the abandoned Lexus vehicle.
They were later taken to the custody of the police in Uso. Men of the Special Anti-Kidnapping Squad said they have been combing the forest in the axis where the incident occurred.
The police said the kidnappers had reached out to the family of the abducted couple and demanded N20million ransom to secure their release.
The kidnappers were said to have emerged from the bush, shot at a moving trailer and forced the couple’s jeep which the victims were traveling in to stop and they were consequently kidnapped.
When contacted, The Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Tee-Leo Ikoro, who confirmed the incident said crack detectives comprising the police, military, Civil Defence and Amotekun were already on top of the situation as investigations were on going.
“We got information about the incident and we quickly dispatched our tatical squad for a rescue mission. As I speak with you, they are combing the forest and I am sure they will soon be released.
” We heard they were asking for N20million ransom, but we are not interested in that. Rather we are going after them,” he stated.
He assured that the victims would soon be released, assuring that the present joint security operation would help secure their release.
