Two women docked for threat to life

Two women, Adunni Olagorusi, 60 and Ifatayo Egungbohun, 30, have been arraigned before an Odigbo Chief Magistrate Court, over an alleged threat to life.
Men of the Ondo State Police Command, arraigned the defendants before Chief Magistrate D. O Ogunfuyi, on two counts bordering on conspiracy and threat to life.
The prosecution alleged that the defendants committed the offence sometimes in February at Omifon in Ore, Ondo State.
According to the prosecutor, Inspector Usifo James, the duo entered into the cocoa and kolanut farmland of the complainant, one Rotimi Akinnmusere, with intent to commit a felony.
He also alleged that the defendants violently threatened to kill the complainant with cutlass when he challenged them for entering his farmland.
But they pleaded not-guilty to the offence which contravenes Sections 86 and 451 of the Criminal, Code Cap. 37, Volume 1 Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.
Usifo, therefore, sought for an adjournment to enable him study the case file and prepare his witnesses for trial.
The defence counsel, Mr. M.E. Tiewe, did not oppose the prosecutor’s application. But he prayed the court to grant his client bail on most liberal terms.
Chief Magistrate D. O. Ogunfuyi, in his ruling, admitted the defendants bail in the sum of N100,000, with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case till April 4, 2024, for mention.
