As part of efforts to improve basic education delivery in Osun State, the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Abuja, in collaboration with Osun Universal Basic Education Board, have organized a two-day cluster training workshop.
The participants which were drawn from the three senatorial districts included Project Implementation Sub-Committees and Local Government Education Authority Desk Officers across the State.
Speaking at the programme, the Executive Secretary, of Osun State Universal Basic Education Board, Mr Yahaya Bakare called on the School-Based Management Committee Members (SBMC) to ensure quality education delivery in their various Schools.
The SUBEB boss noted that the School Based Management Committee has been globally accepted by all education stakeholders as a veritable channel to promote ideal school governance.
Mr Bakare said the present administration in Osun State, under the leadership of Governor Ademola Adeleke, is passionate about education, hence striving hard to revamp the State education system.
The Executive Secretary, thanked the national umbrella body of the Commission, UBEC, for its support over the years, while also lauding Governor Ademola Adeleke for ensuring that the training workshop became a reality.
Speaking on the importance of the training workshop, Mr Bakare said all hands must be on deck to promote the state education system.
In their separate goodwill messages, the Osun State UBEC State Coordinator, Mr Kehinde Dada, the UBEC Officer from Abuja, Hadjia Nasira Abdulhamid and Osun SUBEB Director for Social Mobilization and Special Education, Mr Fatai Oyewole eulogized the Federal Government, UBEC and Osun State Government for their unrelenting support in providing quality education to Nigerian school children through their various laudable educational programs.
They enjoined the participants to make judicious use of the knowledge acquired at the training workshop so as to enhance quality education delivery.
