The Executive Secretary of Osun State Universal Basic Education Board, Mr. Yahaya Bakare, has called on School-Based Management Committee members (SBMC) to ensure quality education delivery in their schools.

Mr. Bakare gave the admonition in a keynote address delivered at a stakeholders’ sensitization meeting on implementing the 2021/2022 School Based Improvement program in Osogbo, organized by the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Abuja in collaboration with Osun Universal Basic Education Board.

The State SUBEB Boss noted that all education stakeholders have globally accepted the School Based Management Committee as a veritable channel to promote ideal school governance.

Mr. Bakare asserted that the present administration in Osun State was passionate about education, urging stakeholders to support the development of the education sector.

The SUBEB Scribe, therefore, harped on the need for SBMC members to collaborate with stakeholders, especially host communities, to protect schools’ property and assist in developing the schools.

He, therefore, called for judicious and effective use of whatever fund is allocated for school development rather than being diverted for personal benefit.

Earlier, the Director of Social Mobilization and Special Education, Mrs. Oyebola Adeoye, thanked the national umbrella body of the Commission, UBEC, for its support over the years.

She enjoined the participants to wholeheartedly embrace and make judicious use of the knowledge acquired at the training workshop, saying that the education stakeholders’ meeting will further strengthen the capacity of school project implementation and modalities on how to perform their duties.

In separate remarks, Osun SUBEB and Abuja UBEC Officers, Mr. Kehinde Dada and Mr. Noel Djossou, respectively, enjoined SBMC members to make judicious use of the training, charging that every project in their schools should improve learning in their various communities.
