Uncle nabbed for rape attempted murder

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Ekiti state command has  arrested a 52-year-old man, Dennis Agya Kiyeye, who allegedly consipired and attempted to murder his 15 years old niece (names withheld).

Parading the suspect, the Commandant of the NSCDC in the state, Mr. Solomon Iyamu, said the suspect allegedly defied and impregnated the girl at Ilupeju village a suburb community, Gboyin Local Governmemt area of Ekiti state.

The Ekiti NSCDC helmsman said the suspect had confessed that his neice has been living with him since 2013 immediatly after the death of her mother in Benue state.

Similarly, in a confessional statement before the Journalist “Kiyeye said he had been having carnal knowledge of the girl since three years ago  2013, after the death of her mother and the act has become normal and daily activities of  two of us.

“The incest resulted into pregnancy in 2016, but was kept secret with the help of a quack midwife/nurse who assisted us to terminate the pregnancy”

The suspect who said he was a victim of circumstances, claimed that the pregnancy was jointly owned by him and one Kunle who is still on the wanted list of the NSCDC and happened to be the girl’s school mate in the village.

The girl later became  pregnant  for him again, and due to the shame he had caused himself in the village, he consipired to terminate the life of the girl in a nearby bush around the village.

Luck was said to jave came to her side as the poor girl was rescued by  a good Samaritan who reported the dastard act to the village  Head of the community.

The village head , Chief Adebisi Olaoye, who later reported the matter to to the security agent, explained that the suspect who is an indigene of Benue state has beenn living in the village for quite some times is a man of questionable character.

The village head after the sinful act became open to the people of the village,his movement became suspicious.

Chief Olaoye added that people in the village have been watching the suspect to determine the veracity of the information they had heard.

The Village head confirmed the claim that the suspect  arrested by the people while attempting to kill  the girl in the village.

 The village Chief promised to support the NSCDC on investigations to unravel the mystery.

The victim who revealed her inabilities to reject the sexual advances of her uncle who she claimed  deflowered her said the uncle is responsible for her feedings and upkeep, any refusal may land her into hunger and suffering

“He feeds and sheltered me and any attempt to refuse may result into hunger, punishment and deprive  school fees.”

She therefore cried to Non Govermental Organization ( NGO) religious organidations, people and Government of Ekiti state and well meaning Nigerians to come to her rescue as medical examination showed that she has fibroid tumour that is growing along  with the baby which may hinder the development of the foetus.

The state commandant, Solomon Iyamu, who was amazed by the act, said that the suspect would be charged to court  to serve as deterrent to other wicked relatives who are in the act of defiling children of their family members or unsuspecting children under their watch.

The  NSCDC Commandant enjoined parents in the state to take adequate care of their girl-child against shameless and wicked relatives pretending to be family members.
