UNIMED inducts 34

No fewer than 34 students have been inducted into the Medical Rehabilitation Therapist Board of Nigeria at the induction ceremony of the Physiotherapy graduates of the Department of Rehabilitation at the University of Medical sciences, UNIMED, Ondo State.

The event which was the second induction ceremony of Physiotherapy graduates of the institution was observed in the university’s auditorium, Odosida campus, in the city.

The Vice Chancellor of the university, professor Adesegun Fatusi represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Administration, Prof. A.O Loto, enjoined the inductees to make it a point of duty to touch lives around them positively.

In his welcome address, the Dean, Faculty of Medical Rehabilitation, Prof. Mathew Balogun felicitated the graduates and their parents for the success recorded.

Delivering lecture on professionalism, mentorship and leadership in Physiotherapy career, the Pharmacophysiotherapist Director, Consortium for Training, Dr Ayodele Teslim Onigbinde said a physiotherapist must be compassionate, trustworthy, know what to do when things go wrong while advising them to get a role model to mentor, nurture, brush and guild them to be a great leader.

He further added that true professionalism comes into play when they know what to do when things go wrong and how to react appropriately to ensure a high standard of patient care and a speedy resolution is reached.

The Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the MRTB, Dr. Mrs Olufunke Akanle encouraged the graduates to be good ambassadors of the profession.
