UNIMED matriculates 900

Nine hundred students of the University of Medical Sciences, Ondo City have matriculated at a virtual ceremony to kick-start the 2022/2023 academic session.

The students, who were sworn in on the university campus, were admitted into eight faculties including the faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, Faculty of Clinical Sciences, Faculty of Dental Sciences, Faculty of Medical Rehabilitation, Faculty of Nursing Sciences, Faculty of Public Health and Faculty of Sciences.

Speaking at the  ceremony, the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Adesegun Fatusi urged the newly admitted students to abide by the laws and regulations of the institution and be of good  conduct.

Fatusi said the university has zero tolerance for sexual harassment, hooliganism and corruption, adding that the school law would spare no student caught on the wrong side of the law.

He advised the students to collaborate and cooperate with the school authority to ensure that there are no distractions while assuring them of optimal support in their learning endeavours to stay fruitful and productive.

The Vice-Chancellor enjoined them to fear God and obey his commandment so that they can be great in life.

Also speaking, a matriculant from the Faculty of Nursing, Miss Ibukun Adeyemi thanked God for her life and promised to study hard so that she could come out with first class.

Steve Akinkuolie, from the Faculty of Basic Sciences, said “today is the day I have been longing for” as he promised to be of good conduct at all times.
