UNIMED secures $500,000 for Pharmacy faculty development

The University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo City, Ondo State, has received a significant boost in its efforts to commence undergraduate studies in Pharmacy (Doctor of Pharmacy programme), with a $500,000 donation from General T. Y. Danjuma (retd.) towards the development of infrastructure for UNIMED’s Olu Akinkugbe Faculty of Pharmacy.

The donation was acknowledged during a meeting of the Board of the Olu Akinkugbe Pharmacy Education Trust (OAPET).

OAPET is partnering with the State Government and the University in the development of the Faculty of Pharmacy.

The Chairman of OAPET, Prince Julius Adelusi-Adeluyi, OFR, expressed the Board’s great delight and gratitude for the donation.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adesegun Fatusi, who is also a member of the OAPET Board, noted that this “donation will significantly move us forward towards our target of completing and commissioning the Olu Akinkugbe Faculty of Pharmacy building this year.”

He reiterated the full commitment of the University management to commence the Doctor of Pharmacy programme in the new academic session, starting in October 2024.
