From Sade Adewale, Ondo
Members of staff of the University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo have donated about three million naira to  the 2019 Friends of UNIMED Fund (FUF).

Fifty two staff, representing less than a quarter of the total number of staff of the institution made a donation of N2,733,000.

The donations were made during the launching of the 2019 FUF  fund  organised by the Management of the University.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Friday Okonofua assured that the donations will be used for the construction of a facility as soon as possible, saying that all donors will have their names on the building.

“UNIMED is grateful to all staff who made the donation. If staff can donate such funds from their limited resources, it shows how committed they are to the development of the University. We invite everyone, including parents, guardians, friends and all stakeholders to make donations towards the growth and development of this first University of Medical Sciences in Nigeria. Be part of our growth, and we will never forget you”, Okonofua stated.

The 2019 FUF donation is expected to increase in the next few weeks as other members of staff make their donations.

FUF is aimed at  attracting  friends for the university who will  contribute financially towards the  execution  of specific projects in the university.
