UNIMEDTH urges staff to prioritise research for growth

The Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the University of Medical Science Teaching Hospital (UNIMEDTH), Ondo, Dr Michael Gbala, has underscored the significance of research in driving academic excellence and institutional development.
Speaking during a meeting with the hospital’s administrative officers in Ondo, Gbala emphasised the need for increased engagement in high-quality research publications, highlighting its crucial role in advancing healthcare services.
“We are not just practitioners but contributors to global knowledge,” he stated.
He urged administrative officers to collaborate with departmental teams, explore interdisciplinary research opportunities, and leverage the institution’s resources to enhance academic development and healthcare service delivery.
Reaffirming UNIMEDTH’s status as a leading centre for medical innovation, Gbala stressed the importance of maintaining the hospital’s reputation for excellence in medical sciences.
