Barring any hitch, result of the Common Entrance Examination into Unity Secondary Schools in Ondo State, conducted last Saturday will be out today.
This was disclosed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Rev Akin Asaniyan while monitoring the five centres where the examination took place.
The five centres were Aquinas College, Oyemekun Grammar School, St Peters Unity Secondary school, Fiwasaye Girls Grammar School, and St Louis Girls grammar School all in Akure, the state capital.
The Permanent Secretary who commended the conduct of both parents and students during the examination said it was a remarkable improvement from that of last year,as parents were seated calmly and far away from the examination halls.
On if they could absorb all the pupils if they all passed, Asaniyan said government is working tirelessly to ensure that all those who passed are not denied their right.
“At the administrative level, we will sit down to project how to absorb or accommodate them, assuming like half of them or all of them passed, we are working on upgrading the facilities in the five unity schools, so that the pupils will not be denied their legitimate right, ” he said.
Asaniyan also disclosed that the result will be ready in twenty four hours after the examination ended but that it will be made available on Monday after the Commissioner might have been briefed, adding that it will now be released on line.
One of the parents, Mr Olasupo Ogundare said ”The arrangement I met on ground was orderly and well organised, the security men at the centres did not allow the parents to enter except the students which prevented rowdiness because everyone was rushing to go in because of time factor.
”So far, so good, the examination has been well conducted and the condition here is conducive,” he stated.
A student, Ejiro Ikubueze of Impact International School, Akure said it was well organized as she did not find it difficult to find her seat and parents were not allowed to come inside.
