Professor Bankole Ajibabi Omotoso, a Professor of Drama from University of Stellenbosch in South Africa, he is a writer and passionate in promoting and showcasing Akure to the world.

THE ELEKOS

The Eleko family is one of the big players in Ondo State politics and they play relevant roles in other fields like Journalism among others. Prominent among them is Prince Kanye Eleko, Hon Olu Eleko and so on.

This family is known as one of the leading Islamic scholar in Akure kingdom. The current Chief Imam of Akure, Alhaji Abdulhakeem Yayi-Akorede and his late father are members of this great family.

The Adegbehingbe’s family produced the Commonwealth gold medals winner and the first world championship medalist in Finland in 1983, Lawrence Adegbehingbe.
