Students of higher institutions in Nigeria have implored President Muhammadu Buhari to do the needful to fix the economic, insecurity and power challenges facing the country.

They gave the advice while speaking with The Hope on their expectations ahead of the second term of the president in office.

An English and Literary Studies student in Ekiti State University, Lekan Adams charged the president to see his second term in office as a call to service to rescue the country from  economic hardship so that hunger being faced by Nigerians can be a thing of the past.

He described his re-election as free and fair which has God’s intervention to rescue the country from its current insecurity challenges, bad economy and to empower Nigerians particularly, the  teeming unemployed youth’s to be self reliant.

According to him, “We expect him to tackle the issue of insecurity, unemployment,  epileptic power supply and improve agriculture by encouraging our farmers.”

He said his next level mantra should not be a disappointment to Nigerians as he should ensure that all the ongoing projects across the country are completed and commissioned for the use of people in the country.

The student advised Nigerians to resist any unlawful act of violence that, can distract government’s attention at all levels to discharge their duties.

In his own view, a student of Mining Engineering at Federal University Technology Akure, FUTA, Damola Adegbaju, described the presidential election in which Buhari was reelected as free, fair and credible.

Adegbaju, who explained that students also joined Nigerians in celebrating the president’s victory in the election urged him not to relent in his bid of fight against corruption.

“Buhari should give his best as citizens of the country are expecting much from him”, he said

He however appealed to the opposition parties not satisfied with the election outcome to approach court for redress.

Adegbaju, called on political parties  contesting next Saturday’s House of Assembly election to warn their agents and members not to engage in any form of electoral offence or violence that could render the poll incredible.
