Osun state governor, Gboyega Oyetola, members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and their supporters took to the streets of Osogbo on Wednesday to celebrate the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The governor in a motorcade from the Government House, Okefia through Alekunwodo, Isale Osun, Oja Oba down to Nelson Mandela Freedom Park thanked the people for voting for Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The procession which included thousands of broom-waving crowd, ‘Buhari Leekansi’ flag carriers and passersby danced to the lyrical songs of “Sai Buhari, Sai Baba” , Buhari next level”, the slogan of the All Progressives Congress in the state.
Oyetola while addressing the people noted that the day, (Wednesday) is significant in the history of the state as it marked three months of his inauguration, and stated that hence Buhari’s victory was an appreciation of good governance and quality leadership.
He thanked the people for voting for President Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC) and assured that the state would continue to benefit massively from the Social Investment initiatives of the Federal Government.
Describing Buhari’s victory as well-deserved, Oyetola noted that the outcome of the election showed that President Buhari has done very well and his victory gives hope for our democracy.
While congratulating the President and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Oyetola added that it is a renewed hope for Nigerians as the victory depicts that the President has done very well in all areas.
Oyetola said his government will remain resolute to give people the best they deserve.
He said the President’s re-election will help to consolidate on his good works including the diversification of the economy, fight against insurgency, anti-corruption crusade and economic rejuvenation.
