The Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC), has assured the people of the state that their vote will count in the coming December 16 Local Government election.
Giving the assurance in an interview, the Commission’s Chairman, Dr Joseph Aremo, said the Commission is well prepared for the coming election.
He said the Commission will put in place a template that will make the people have much confidence in it.
” We want to be able to provide a template that would ensure that the essence of the sovereignty that is vested in the people is without inducement, coercion and anything that would deter the tenet of democracy,”he stated.
He added that they would provide equal opportunity and a level playing ground for all registered political parties and stakeholders, because Commission does not have any affiliation with any of them.
Aremo who further said Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) would not be used in the election, said even without BVAS, the election would be free, fair and transparent.
He said that was why all the stakeholders were been carried along in all what the Commission is doing ,so that there won’t be gap in communication and there will be success at the end of the election.
