Security operatives from various agencies, including the Nigerian Police Force, the Nigerian Army, and the Civil Defence Corps, have been stationed across polling units and major junctions in the area.

There is an orderly atmosphere at all the polling units, with voters queuing patiently to exercise their civic rights.

Election officials, in a chat with The Hope, assured their commitment to a free, fair, and peaceful process.

As of the time of this report, there have been no incidents disrupting voting in the area.

At the time of writing this report, all the political leaders in the local government have voted at their various polling units.

Cross-sections of voters, in their separate remarks, commended the authorities for the security measures put in place for the peaceful conduct of the election.

However, some residents raised concerns about the intimidating presence of armed personnel. “We appreciate the protection, but the number of armed officers is overwhelming and makes some people uneasy,” noted one of the voters.
