The Conference of Nigeria Political Parties,CNPP, Ondo State chapter has commended the State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for the fulfilment of his promise to take the burden of the payment of West Africa Examination Council, WAEC, fees off parents .
The political body also appealed to the state government to clear itself from what it described as rumour making the round that the governor imposed on each local government in the state to contribute N480,000 each towards the celebration of the governor’s 100 days in office.
The State Chairman of the political body, Dr. Ajibola Falaiye, who stated this during a press briefing in Akure explained that the payment of fees for Secondary School Certificate Examination for 25,736 students in public schools in the state was laudable.
He maintained that the promise fulfilled by the governor to assist parents on the payment of their children examination fees was a plus to democracy which would go a long way to relieve parents.
According to him, CNPP would not hesitate in supporting the state government on the path of development.
“CNPP is for objectivity, we are not antagonists to anybody but inform government why, where it is necessary
The CNPP, appealed to the state government to make provision of work for local contractors through award of culvert repairs as it was done by both the late Governors Adefarati and Agagu-led administrations to have their daily food.
“If this is attended to, will enable the local councils to put out minor repairs job to these contractors, so they can have daily food” he said
Similarly, the CNPP appreciated the government for its response to the reconstitution of the board /parastatals-civil service commission, appealing to government to return the schools free shuttle buses to the road for the use of the school children as dividends of democracy.
