The Chairman, House Committee on Education, Science and Technology and Member Representing Akure South Constituency 1, in the Ondo State House of Assembly, Mr Toluwani Borokini has commended the state Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for his passion for the down trodden.
According to him, the governor’s intervention in the state’s education by paying the School Certificate Examination Fees (WASSCE) Fees for students in public schools in the state is commendable.
He described this intervention as timely and thoughtful as it would ease the financial burden on parents and also boost the morale of the benefitting students towards education.
The lawmaker implored the Principals to take immediate steps in refunding the registration fees collected so far to the parents/wards of the affected students as directed by the governor.
Also, he encouraged the students to make judicious use of the opportunity and ensure the state ranks amongst the best when results will be released.
He believed that this will be the best compensation for the governor’s kind gesture.
Borokini assured that the State House of Assembly will continue to support the state government by enacting laws to move the education sector to greater heights.
The lawmaker equally urged stakeholders in the education sector to continue to contribute their quotas to the development of education in order to achieve the set goals.
