Ondo State Government has reiterated its commitment to infrastructural development and upgrading of schools across the state.

The State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, gave the assurance at the centenary celebration of the Ondo Boys’ High School, in Ondo city at the weekend.

Akeredolu, who was represented by his deputy, Hon. Agboola Ajayi, said the road network project approved for the school was ongoing, assuring that his government would continue to support other stakeholders in their efforts to contribute towards the school development.

According to him, his government would ensure that modern computers and other necessary facilities were provided to boost ICT studies in schools across the state.

He noted that the school had produced many accomplished individuals in various fields of human endeavour and therefore called on the old students association not to abandon the school, but ensure that they complement the efforts of government, so that the school would attain the  desired height.

While appreciating the organizers of the event, the governor however called on other old students associations of various other schools to emulate the good gesture by giving back to the schools that made them.

Speaking at the event, an old student who donated a N10m worth science laboratory for the school, Prof. Olu Akinkugbe stressed the need for collaboration among well meaning individuals towards the school’s development.

He attributed his success in life to the virtues imparted in him in his days in the school and wished the school many more successful products.
