We are taking shooting sport to grassroots through infrastructure -Federation President

The President of Nigeria Shooting Federation, Commodore ,Olatunji Bamidele Ayoade has said the federation would develop shooting game through infrastructure development.
Ayoade stated this in a media briefing with Sports Writers Association of Nigeria at the 6th National Youth Games,in Ilorin ,Kwara State.
He said their target is to take the game to the six Geopolitical zone of the country ,saying one of the means to develop the game is the ongoing National Youth Games.
He added that the federation will replicate the Zonal Championship held in Abuja ,in Kano and Rivers State adding that any talent discover will be trained in the zone.
“We are impressed with the attitude and the display of our young shooting stars at this youth games, talents have been discovered.
” I can assure you that we have already discovered talents that can do Nigeria proud.
“Fifteen year olds already shooting like professionals,” he added.
“Shooting Sport is a discipline game that inculcates in youth discipline.”
“Media are major Stakeholders in our effort to take the game to the grassroots , we want media to be involved in the game of shooting, we want media to have the first hand experience of the game ,which would enhance their covering of the game.”
“We would include media in refresher courses in Abuja and also have a feel of what the athletes are going through.
“Through media participation in the sport, we know we will get credible and viable sponsors.”
He added that the federation is working hard to ensure Nigeria qualify for the next Olympic in Shooting sport.
