The need for members of National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, Osun State branch to maintain peace has been stressed.
To this end, all members of the union across the state have been advised to continue to be law abiding in their day-to-day activities.
This was made known in a statement issued after the state executive council meeting by the union’s state Chairman, Chief Folorunso Salami and made available to newsmen in Osogbo.
The statement informed that, in order to allow the already existing peace to continue in the union, the incumbent Chairman of the union in the state, Chief Olalekan Folorunso Salami has step aside.
After stepping aside, Comrade Rauf Fakorede was chosen as the state Acting Chairman by all the state executives council of the Osun NURTW.
Fakorede in the statement thanked leaders and members for choosing him as the acting chairman of the union with a promise to work towards the development of union, saying welfare of the members would be his priority.
The statement which described Osun NURTW as one family enjoined all members of the union not to foment trouble, just as it charged them on the need to desist from anything that can cause breakdown of law.
