‘We ‘ll block leakages to boost IGR’

By Fatima Muraina

The Ondo state Ministry of Agriculture has stated that it would block all loopholes to meet the targeted Internally Generated Revenue of the year.

The state Commissioner of Agriculture and Forestry, Mr Olayato Aribo stated this in a chat with The Hope, in Akure.

Aribo observed that there were linkages that would be blocked to ensure that everybody enjoys the benefits of agriculture in the state.

He noted that the ministry will look at the untapped areas to leverage on to increase the internally Generated Revenue of the state.

While  vowing that he would double the IGR met on ground, he planned to engage the youths and rural women.

“There are other value chain under Agriculture that the youths could be interested in that are still part of Agriculture. It is not only tilling the ground and planting cassava or cocoa”

” We will find a way to get them involved. Giving orientation and sensitizing them making available good road network system, going into livestock farming and linking them with those at the commercial sector of agriculture would be achieved,” he stated.
