We ‘ll collaborate with Obas, Osun assures

The Osun state government has assured traditional rulers in the state of total support in a bid to ensure that the state continues to remain peaceful and secured at all times.

 Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr Adebayo Adeleke disclosed this while fielding questions from journalists shortly after the monthly meeting of the state council of Obas in Osogbo.

He said government realizes the fact that traditional rulers are needed for the continued peace and progress of the state, hence the need to work closely with the royal fathers for growth and development of the state.

The Commissioner explained that no government can succeed without the cooperation of traditional rulers, stressing that they are the closest to the people.

Also speaking, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr Rasaki Adeosun commended the traditional rulers for pledging to support the government in the move to drive up the revenue of the state.

Speaking earlier at the meeting of the Council of Obas, the Ooni of Ifè, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi  commended the administration of Governor Oyetola for putting everything in place to ensure that the state continues to remain peaceful at all times.

The monarch who stressed that traditional rulers will continue to work closely with government to ensure that the revenue of the state improves, emphasized that all royal fathers will henceforth become tax marshals in their various domains.
