We ’ll live up to expectations, Commissioner-designates assure

Following the confirmation of the appointment of five Commissioners by the Ondo State House of Assembly, the Commissioners have pledged to live up to people’s expectations by serving them with utmost dedication and humility.
They made the pledge while speaking with our House of Assembly correspondents shortly after their confirmation.
The five Commissioners confirmed are Mrs. Yetunde Adeyanju, Mrs Titilayo Adeyemi, Mr Temitayo Oluwatuyi, Mr. Fatai Olotu and Mr Akindotun Olubunmi Owanikin Esq.
Mrs Yetunde Adeyanju from Odigbo local government, who appreciated Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for the confidence reposed in them assured of effective service delivery for the benefit of all and sundry.
While saying that the appointment is a call to service, she pledged to put in her best to jointly move the state to the next level.
Also, Mr Temitayo Oluwatuyi who is from Akure South local government promised to work in tandem with the tempo of the administration and set best example of efficient service delivery.
Mr. Fatai Olotu, a former lawmaker, from Akoko North East also said he would work hard to add value to the government.
At the plenary presided over by the Speaker, Mr Bamidele Oleyelogun, the assembly confirmed the five commissioners through a unanimous decision of the lawmakers. Oleyelogun averred that the confirmation became imperative in order to deliver good governance to the people of the state
The lawmakers from their respective local governments had earlier extolled the virtues of the nominees.
This followed a motion moved by the Majority Leader of the house , Mr Jamiu Maito that they should be confirmed as all of them are qualified to hold the positions which was seconded by a lawmaker, representing Ondo East, Mr Oladiji Adesanmi upon the submission of the selected committee’s report before the house.
The house also confirmed the appointment of Mrs Margaret Akinsuroju, who was not cleared last week due to some issues as Chairman Interim Management Committee of Odigbo local government.
Maito posited that the assembly stepped down the confirmation of Mrs Akinsuroju last week for further clarification which has been investigated and resolved.
Speaking with journalists, Mrs Akinsuroju promised to work for the development of her local council and equally ensure women and youths emancipation.
