The new Head of Service (HoS) of Ondo State, Mr Dare Aragbaye has charged accounting officers in the state to come up with creative ideas and embrace the repositioning of the  public service for effective service delivery.

He gave the charge at a meeting with Accounting officers of the state Ministries Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in Akure.

Aragbaye, who said that  repositioning of the public service would not be achieved alone without carrying along other accounting officers of various MDAs, posited that his office will always operate an open door policy.

While saying that the civil service is not a one man service but a team work, he advised the accounting officers to always ensure that workers’ welfare and industrial harmony in their various MDAs are given utmost priority.

“This is like a follow up to the mandate given to us by Mr governor ,I am leading the effort to reposition the public service. To reform is not a one man affair and you are the accounting officers that make things happen in the various MDAs.All the comments made at this meeting are very encouraging.

Aragbaye said the meeting would be a continuous one while committees will be formed to achieve the set goals.

Some of the participants who spoke in separate interviews with The Hope commended the HoS for the meeting, noting that they have learnt a lot on how to build the civil service in a new direction and work towards the actualisation of government’s policies.
