Ondo State House of Assembly has commended the quality of various projects being undertaken at the Government House in Akure.
The Speaker of the House, Bamidele Oleyelogun gave the commendation while leading the House Committee on Government House and Protocol on site inspection of the ongoing Governor’s Lodge and other projects.
According to him, the oversight function became necessary to ensure on the spot assessment of the projects to achieve the set goal.
Oleyelogun expressed satisfaction with the materials and machinery being used which he said were of best qualities.
“We have been hoping for this type of befitting building as Governors lodge as seen in virtually all the states of the federation.The amount expended on the project worth it,as it would stand the test of time”.
While stating why the House of Assembly will continue to support the Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu led administration, the Speaker said it was gratifying that the governor has remained unrelentingly passionate to get the best for the state and the people.
The Majority Leader of the House who is the Chairman of the Committee, Emmanuel Ogunmolasuyi said that the Governor’s Lodge when completed will not only be a legacy project, but also a pride for the state.
He expressed satisfaction of his committee with the projects seen ,describing them as evidence of credible performance.
Speaking, the State Commissioner for Lands and Infrastructures, Raimi Aminu appreciated the lawmakers for providing good representation and robust relationship with the executive arm to move the state forward.
The Commissioner who informed that the contractor has promised to deliver the project within sixteen months, gave kudos to the Executive Council for selecting best hand for the job.
He assured the Legislators that despite paucity of funds, Governor Akeredolu will continue to work assiduously to ensure that projects being undertaken across the state meet best standards.
Projects inspected by the committee at the governor’s house include, the ongoing ultramodern Governor’s Lodge and its Block Moulding Plant; the current Governor’s Lodge, Presidential Annex, Government House Mosque ,Chapel of Grace among others.
