In a bid to enhance security and safeguard lives and property, the Chairman of Ose Local Government, Kolapo Ojo, has reiterated his firm commitment to supporting security agencies in the area.
He made this known during a tour of Mokun Stream and Ose River, two key locations of concern in the region’s security landscape.
Acknowledging the increasing security challenges in the area, the Chairman stressed the need for proactive measures to curb potential threats.
“We will support security agencies so as to stamp out crimes and criminalities in this area,” he said.
As part of the initiative, the Chairman and his delegation also visited the temporary station of the Ifon Divisional Police Headquarters, where he held discussions with officers of the Nigeria Police Force.
The meeting provided a platform to strengthen existing security partnerships and explore strategies for crime prevention, intelligence sharing, and operational support to improve safety within the local government.
Speaking at the police station, the Chairman commended the dedication and resilience of officers in maintaining peace despite logistical and infrastructural challenges.
He assured them of the local government’s continued support in enhancing their effectiveness and operational efficiency.
He also urged community members to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies, emphasising that security is a shared responsibility.
He called on traditional rulers, youth leaders, and other key stakeholders to actively participate in intelligence-sharing efforts to combat crime and criminal activities.
“Security remains a top priority for this administration. We will continue working closely with security agencies, community leaders, and all relevant stakeholders to create a safer environment for our people,” he stated.
