Ondo State House of Assembly has promised to complement the State government’s efforts at improving the audit institutions through legislation.
The Chairman House Committee on Public Accounts, Olatunji Ifabiyi gave the assurance when he led other members on a visit to the office of the State Auditor General in Akure.
Ifabiyi who was represented by the Vice Chairman of the Committee, Oluwatoyin Allen , noted that the 10th Assembly will do everything within its capacity to make an impact through the audit institution.

While saying that Public Account is a creation of the law, the lawmakers affirmed that its functionality is based on prompt feedback from the office of the Auditor General.
He therefore called for the office cooperation to achieve the desired outcome.
Members commended the level of competence and the way they have been relating with the Assembly over the years, charging them to continue to show integrity.
Earlier, the State Auditor General,Mr Sunday Adegoke, who appreciated the committee for the visit, spoke on the office activities, achievements and challenges, promising to carry the legislators along for effective performance.
While thanking the Assembly for the prompt passage of the new audit bill into law, Adegoke averred that the office now has the legal mandate of full autonomy in line with the global audit law.
Adegoke sought for the support of the lawmakers in ensuring that all provisions of the law are implemented, including allowance acruable to staff to avert compromise.
The Auditor General noted that the skill of staff needs to be constantly enhanced due to new methodology.
