We’ll continue to support NYSC – DSS

The State Director of Security, Department of State Services, Ondo State Command, Mr Ahidjo Vanokah Abraham, has described the National Youth Service Corps as a programme that his command gives premium to.

 The State Director made the statement when he hosted the NYSC Ondo State Coordinator, Mr. Samuel Amaramiro Pepple, in his office in Akure.

Mr. Abraham who disclosed that the Command and NYSC have several things in common promised not only to sustain the relationship with the Scheme but equally improve on it.

“The National Youth Service Corps which was established in 1973 by the administration of General Yakubu Gowon (retd) has its core mandate to promote unity among all Nigerians irrespective of their backgrounds, and I must say that the Scheme has lived up to the billings since it was established over five decades ago”.

He continued, ‘We are proud to be a very critical stakeholder with the Scheme because our operations have assisted the NYSC in several ways, through our intelligence service’ he said.

He congratulated the State Coordinator and wished him outstanding success in the state.

Speaking earlier, the State Coordinator. Mr Samuel Amaramiro Pepple thanked the Command for not failing the Scheme each time NYSC called on them, asking for more synergy.

“Whenever we come to pester you for one assistance or the other, kindly endure us because your knowledge and intelligence are invaluable to us”.

The State Coordinator thanked the management of the Command for the positive disposition they display towards NYSC matters in the state and lauded their ingenuity at information and intelligence gathering and sharing.

On the safety of Corps members, Pepple pleaded with the DSS Chief to impress it upon his staff at all the Local Governments in the state to put special attention to Corps Lodges and other residential buildings occupied by Corps members.
