We’ll continue to support Police– Ondo Speaker

Ondo State House of Assembly has commended the State command of the Nigeria Police Force, for being proactive at ensuring peace in the State.
The Speaker, Olamide Oladiji gave the commendation when he led some members of the house which includes the Chairman, House Committee on Information, Oshati Olatunji, lfabiyi olatunji, Chris Ogunlana and Afe Felix on a visit to the force headquarter in Akure.
According to him, the visit became imperative to rub mind with the State Commissioner of Police and his team as a seperate arm of government to further enhance the security of the State, thanking them for a job well done, particularly at this period.
Oladiji pledged that the House will continue to give legislative backing to the Security Agencies in the State towards enhancing security for enduring peace.
The Speaker said: “On behalf of the house, l thank you for managing the situation at this trying time from escalating. Your high level of professionalism in maintaining peace, law and order is applaudable”.
He also advocated for more coordinated synergy with the 10th Assembly towards an unhindered peace in the State.
Responding, the State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Oladimeji Asabi said their primary aim is to provide security and protect lives and properties, assuring that the command will continue to do its best to secure the State and work harmoniously with stakeholders to achieve set objectives.
While saying that without security, there cannot be meaningful development, he solicited for the support of the House in fast-tracking operational facilities in enhancing the capacity of the command.
He applauded the complete humility of the leadership of the House for deeming it fit to visit the command, saying that the development will further strengthen the security of the State.
