The newly appointed Chairman, State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) Ondo state, Mr Victor Olabimtan has stressed that the state government will continue to provide quality basic education for pupils in the state.

Olabimtan, who spoke with The Hope shortly after resuming office as the new Chairman of the Board in Akure yesterday, said Governor Akeredolu would do nothing short of the best of basic education for children.

“The Governor has a vision and he has a mission for the state and that vision we must try as much as possible to realize it.

“He wants an education sector where we provide education that will give the citizenry, particularly the pupils in the formative stage of learning, necessary requirements that they need in life to be able to cope with life necessities.

“That is why functional schools are being provided to make the environment safe, fences are being provided and a lot of things are being done”, he said.

The SUBEB Chairman noted that the state would move from “the realm of government patronage alone to Private- Public Partnership.

‘We want to attract fund from other sources to come and invest into our primary education sector and this by the grace of God we shall achieve”.

He called on the people of the state to expect the best from the Board.

He said the essence of meeting with the staff of the board was to familiarise with them so as to work together and improve on the past achievements of the board.

Addressing the staff earlier, the Permanent Secretary of the board, Mr Dele Akingbade promised unalloyed loyalty and support of the staff.
