The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Ondo State has promised the people of the state that the APC administration will run an inclusive government, calling on all political parties to support Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu in his effort to build the “Ondo State of our dream”.
The party leaders, who spoke with The Hope during the issuance of Certificate of Return to Governor Akeredolu and his running mate, Lucky Ayedatiwa by INEC in Akure, said no constituent would be left out of the benefits of democracy Arakunrin Akeredolu would bring to the state.
While attributing the party’s victory in the just concluded governorship election to God’s glory, the state Chairman of the party, Ade Adetimehin promised that Akeredolu-led administration would continue what it had started in the last four years.
“What the governor has done is monumental and he will continue to do more. We are going to run an all inclusive government. The governor has pronounced it and he is going to stand by it,” he assured.
He appreciated the people of the state for the confidence reposed in the party to pilot the affairs of the Sunshine state till 2024, saying that Arakunrin Akeredolu would not disappoint them.
One of the party’s chieftains and former Nigerian Ambassador to Togo, Sola Iji said Governor Akeredolu would improve on what he has done and complete all initiated projects and new ones.
“He had promised to improve on what he had done. He will finish all the projects he had started including new ones, in term of infrastructure, in term of industrialisation and all the projects that the citizens of the state are expecting from the governor in his second term”, he said.
Also speaking, the Member Ondo State House of Assembly, representing Akure South Constituency 1, Toluwani Borokini said the reelection of the party in October 10 election meant that Akeredolu’s good works should continue.
He congratulated Governor Akeredolu and Lucky Ayedatiwa for the resounding victory, appreciating APC leaders, supporters and people of the state for the massive votes.
“The good people of Ondo state should expect completion of projects. Our people have said yes to continuity, a big yes to the sustainability of democracy.
“A lot of projects are on going and the governor is committed to complete all, even in Akure such as Oda road and Ijoka road and every project across the state.
He also stated that the Governor would ensure the completion of the Deep seaport and exploration of bitumen as parts of what the people should look out for in the second dispensation of Arakunrin Akeredolu.
Against the rumour being peddled in town that Akeredolu would abandon Akure people in his second term, Borokini assured that every project in Akure would be completed and no area would be left out of the benefits Akeredolu Administration is bringing to the state.
“Akeredolu is a talk and do governor. Every project he has started in every senatorial district, every local government area, every constituent will be completed. Irrespective of who voted him or not. He is a rare kind of leader. He has given his word” he said.
The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftancy Affairs, Mrs Lola Fagbemi said the people of Ondo state should expect, from the APC, radical development, massive road infrastructure, Port Ondo, industrialisation and good benefits in the next for years.
“As a matter of fact and by the grace of God, who has graciously given this mandate to Akeredolu, he will perform creditably well, better than what he did in the first term. We are very confident of that”, she articulated.
