The abducted Iyaloja of Isua Akoko, Chief Mrs Hellen Edward , who recently regained her freedom alongside three other officials of Akoko South East local government has recounted her ordeals while in captivity of the abductors .
Madam Edward, who was kidnapped along the busy Akure- Owo road last Thursday narrated that the kidnappers starved them of food and water for five days while they were in their hands.
Other victims who secured their freedom included the Chairman of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Akoko Southeast and Director of Budget at the council.
The Hope Metro reliably gathered that five million naira was paid as ransom to secure their release.
Mrs. Alaba Edward, who is the daughter of the Iyaloja of Isua confirmed her release.
It would be recalled that the victims were abducted last week Thursday while traveling in a two Toyota busses marked LG 03SUA and WW340XA by the suspected criminals who barricaded the road about 2pm with logs of woods and other harmful objects.
The Hope Metro learnt that they were freed after all the victims’ families gathered the money and paid the ransom to the hoodlums who had earlier reduced the it from N20million to N5million after pleadings.
The victims have reportedly reunited with their families.
The unfortunate incident had made some drivers plying the road to call on the State police commissioner, Mr Bolaji Salami to draft his men back to the road so that armed bandits will not take over the road to carry out their dastardly act.
Men of the Ondo State Secretary Agency named, ‘Amotekun’ disclosed that the hoodlums dumped the eleven abductees on the road and thereafter, called their families to come over and pick.
