The Ondo State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has suspended any increase in boarding fees in public secondary schools across the state.
In a statement by the Head of Information and Media, Meshak Olaoluwa, the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Mrs Folasade Adegoke, directed public secondary schools with boarding systems to halt any fee increase immediately.
The statement noted that a stakeholders’ meeting would be held with school management to establish a clear approach for handling such issues.
Olaoluwa added that the government regretted any inconvenience caused to parents by the development, emphasising that no increase has been approved for boarding fees across secondary schools in the state.
