Why Catholic community must speak with one voice – Arogundade

The Catholic Bishop of Ondo Diocese, Dr. Jude Ayodeji Arogundade has enjoined the  Catholic Community  in the  state to always speak with one  voice.

He warned  that unless  they speak with one voice, the body of Catholics in Ondo State would not get what rightfully and legitimately belongs to her.

The Bishop who gave the admonition  in Akure at a lecture to commemorate his ten years episcopal  ordination maintained that the church can achieve a lot under a formidable platform of cohesion.

Despite the diversity of our people and their cultures, he assured them that with the right attitude and orientation, they can speak with one voice and lift the diocese to greater heights.

 Bishop Arogundade commended the priests and the laity  for their resilience and support for the church in the  diocese despite biting economic challenges and urged them to continue to endure by standing and defending  the faith and truth.

In a related development, a  Professor of Theology, Rev. Father Anthony Oluwagbenga Igbekele has appealed to Catholics to evangelise their faith through exemplary life styles and conducts.

He gave the advice at a lecture to mark the ten years anniversary of the ordination of Bishop Arogundade.

 Igbekele, Vice -Rector and Registrar at the SS Peter and Paul Major Seminary, in Ibadan urged Catholics to propagate their faith by living worthy and emulative life styles to others.

At  work and in our private life styles, “we should show exemplary conducts which will influence others, wanting them to be a  Catholic”, Igbekele stated

 He advised the Catholic community to exploit the powerful influence of the new media to propagate the faith, pointing that the use of the media has become not just a necessity but an obligation.

The lecture which was attended by faithful from all parishes in the  Diocese also witnessed the unveiling of the mission 2020 logo and cutting  of the anniversary cake by Bishop Arogundade.
