The Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), has called on commuters across the country to always patronise recognised motor parks to reduce risk of insecurity and arrive safely to their destinations.
State Assistant Treasurer of the union, Comrade Victor Iluyomade who made the call at the weekend in Ore, said commuters are more safer when they patronise recognised parks in Ore and the entire state.
“Travelling from a motor park recognised by law will reduce the risk of insecurity such as being robbed by armed robbers or kidnapped on the way.
“We want you to always patronise recognised motor parks whenever you are travelling to ensure that you get to your destination safely,” he said.
Iluyomade, who is also General Chairman Ugbogwi Garage, Ore, RTEAN, said that the association would always ensure that “the commuters are carried by trained drivers, who respect the rules of driving.
“Accidents hardly occur when a driver obeys traffic, if it occurs, the damage is always very minimal”.
He commended the state Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, for the construction of a flyover bridge popularly called redemption bridge in Ore, which he said had improved transportation services in the area.
He called on all transport unions in the council to obey traffic regulations and make use of the bridge properly.
The chairman who pledged the support of the union for the second term of the governor urged him to build a modern motor park in Ore to complement his efforts of making the area a commercial hub.
“I want appreciate Mr. Governor for his determination and efforts to make Ore a commercial hub of the state, he has done a lot for the council area.
“But we still beg him to consider the building of a modern motor park in Ore which would complement the construction of the redemption bridge. Like I have said before, it would beautify the town and generate more revenue for the government”, he said.
He appealed to RTEAN across the state to be united, disciplined and do their work diligently.
