A monarch in Akoko Northwest Local Government Area of Ondo State, The Ewi Aje of Aje, Okeagbe Akoko, Oba Oloruntoba Bello, has attributed religious crisis in any community to lack of the fear of God by the members of the community.
Oba Bello stated this while receiving members of Ansar Ud Deen Society of Nigeria, from the National Headquarters of the society in Lagos State on a fact-finding mission to the town to ascertain the take over of Ansar Ud Deen Mega Primary school, Okeagbe by the state government for the use of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba, Akoko.
The monarch disabused the minds of the members of the public that had been misled by rumours that there was a religious crisis in Okeagbe Akoko over the taking over of Ansar Ud Deen Mega primary school by the state government for the use AAUA saying there is nothing of such.
Oba Bello reiterated that there is a peaceful coexistence among religious adherents in Okeagbe Akoko.
He described traditional rulers as the custodians of all religious faith and as such need to maintain that status and play the role.
Speaking on their mission to Okeagbe Akoko, the head of the delegation, Alhaji (Dr)Y usuf Ibrahim Adebayo who is also the Deputy National President of the society, stated that it is part of the protocol of the society to accord royal fathers recognition and respect they deserve.
Dr Adebayo, a former Commissioner in National Hajj Commission, NACHON, urged the people to embrace peace as the society had intimated the state government through the state Ministry of Education on its position on the issue.
The National Missioner of Ansar Ud Deen Society of Nigeria and Overseas, Sheik Abdulraman Olanrewaju Ahmad in a short address commended the four monarchs in Okeagbe ably represented by Ewi of Aje Okeagbe Akoko for the roles they played in the crisis.
Other members of the delegation includes; Alhaji Popoola, the Natiinak Vice President of the society and Alhaj Iskeel Yusuf, the National Secretary.
It will be recalled that MURIC last month reported the case of marginaisation of Muslims in Okeagbe Akoko as the only Muslim school,.Ansar Udeen Mega primary school was taken over by AAUA which lead to tension and apprehension.
However, in a bid to douse the tension, Ondo State government, in a rejoinder clarified the assertion by mentioning other mega schools affected by the policy in the state.
The state government, has therefore promised to build a block of 6 classrooms, with a good perimeter fencing and a bore hole for Ansar Ud Deen primary school, Okeagbe, this year.
