The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has addressed the ongoing delay in the disbursement of August stipends, citing the payment process.
According to a statement released on September 12, its Director of Corporate Communications, Mrs Oseyemi Oluwatuyi announced that the delay was due to thorough security checks currently being conducted to safeguard public funds and to ensure that payments reach the appropriate beneficiaries.
While acknowledging the inconvenience the delay may cause students, NELFUND emphasized that the checks are part of its commitment to transparency and accountability.
“We therefore ask for your patience and understanding during this period, as we strive to finalize the disbursement with the same level of diligence that has defined our operations thus far,” the statement added.
NELFUND appreciates the feedback from students and is pleased to see the level of engagement and attentiveness in monitoring the progress of the upkeep disbursements.
“This level of involvement reinforces the significance of the student loan program, and we remain dedicated to supporting your educational pursuits, just as we have with previous disbursements.”
