As some men would say, women can really try one’s patience and some deserve beating. They would say “if you just smack them once or twice, they would shut their trap and know their place.

“Such is the tale of a womanizer and his suspicious wife in our neighbourhood. They had been having problems in their marriage following the husband’s continued infidelity. She begged him to stop cheating on her so they could have a peaceful marriage but he did not change his ways.

Little did she know that her husband has gotten into the clutches of Aunty Corper. She is the dread of all married women in our neighbourhood. Whenever they pray over the issue of “strange women”, I’m sure that it was the face of Aunty Corper that would come to their mind.

Is Aunty Corper that terrible? One would likely ask. Well, she is not a trouble maker, rather she is phenomenal. She is a very charming and beautiful young lady. She is also especially charming to the men she comes across. However the women see through her gimick. They see her charm as a calculated attempt and a lure that leads unsuspecting men into a snare. Along with the men, the youths flocked round her because of her generosity and beauty.

A smile from her to most men in our neighbourhood was enough to turn a gloomy day to a shiny and bright day. The men fall over themselves to assist her she needed any problem. She has a demure and helpless look which inspired the men’s protective instinct.
However the neighbourhood women see in her a man eating carnivore who would eat the husbands’ goodness and vitality, then spit out the remains. Hence, women don’t take it lightly when they see husband or son at her apartment.

This couple also were not left out of Aunty Corper’s palaver. They do not even live in our neighbourhood. The husband spends most of the time away from work with Aunty Corper. He looked rich and he drives a Prado jeep.

He would shamelessly park his car outside and stay indoors for long hours.
One day, the wife trailed him to our neighbourhood and saw him park his car outside while Aunty Corper welcomed him with open arms and he hugged her.

They froze as the woman who was still on the motorcycle screamed “henhen! So this is where you keep your concubine who did not allow you to come home and take care of your children”.

By then, she was by their side. She pulled Aunty Corper closer and dealt her stinging slaps on the cheeks. The onlookers including her husband gasped in shock as Aunty Corper recoiled in fear, holding her burning cheeks in her palms.

She was not yet done as she vowed to give the interloper the lesson of her life. The woman was like a virago and she reached out again to unleash more mayhem on the cowed woman. Aunty Corper took off and she made to go after her.

However, the husband was enough match for her. He grabbed her and bellowed at her “Bola, have you lost your senses? And you call yourself a married woman? See how you have disgraced your self! You have really overstepped your boundaries. I am going to teach you a lesson you will not forget today.”

So saying he pounced and beat her severely as if she was his fellow man. It was a terrible scene to behold. It was as if he had been nursing a grudge against her before. The woman who met her match in her husband could not return his blows. She only tried to protect her face from his blows.

By then, Aunty Corper was nowhere to be found. Residents tried to plead with man but he was too angry to listen. He tore her buba. The wife’s wrapper had fallen off too and she was practically naked.

When the residents saw that the man refused to listen to their pleas and continued to kick his wife who laid prostrate on the ground, they pounced on the man. The youths beat him and he tried engaging them manfully because he was very strong but they overpowered him.

The police were soon invited and the couple were whisked away to the police station .
