A middle-aged housewife, Omolara Oluwakemi, has allegedly killed her husband identified as Seidu Jamiu, with a pestle while he was asleep, in Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State.

Reports had it that the couple had a heated argument the previous night, over the husband’s illicit affair with a side chick.

Eyewitnesses reported that the wife called for help, and when they arrived, they found the husband unconscious in a pool of blood.

Chief Awesu, an eyewitness, confirmed that the couple had a misunderstanding over infidelity.

The deceased was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead.

The wife has been detained by the police and transferred to the police headquarters for further investigation.

Ironically, the deceased had recently bought a car for the side chick.

Contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, stated that the wife reported the incident at the police station, claiming that unknown individuals killed her husband.

She said no arrests had been made, but investigation is ongoing.

The police spokesman clarified that the wife’s involvement in the incident is still being investigated, and no conclusions have been drawn yet.

The case is currently under investigation, and further details will be revealed as more information becomes available.
