The Coach of Offa Volleyball Club, Sulaiman Ajeigbe has said he was happy to have emerged champions of the 2022 Nigeria Volleyball Premier League.

Ajeigbe stated this after his side defeated Nigeria Correctional Service 3-2 (25-16, 23-25, 25-17, 17-25, 15-11) in the men’s category to lift the trophy for the first time.

The coach added that it was a challenging competition ,but thanking God for the success recorded in the league.

He said; it’s historical in Nigeria Volleyball Premier League that Offa ,a team from a local government and owned by an individual to compete with bigger teams in the country and lifted the league trophy, this has never happened before.

According to him, “the 12 years old Offa Volleyball Club was founded for the purpose of helping youths in my community, and I ensured that majority of the team are Kwara born players.”

“We started small then, but now to the glory of God Almighty, most of my players are now plying their trade outside the country.”

“I thank the government of Kwara State and Offa community for their overwhelming support in ensuring the success of the team.”

“People of Offa community would be happy when we returned home as champions of the League.”
