Woman, 26, docked for burglary, stealing

A 26-year-old woman, Patience Adie, has been arraigned before an Odigbo Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing clothes worth N500,000.
Men of the Ondo State Police Command brought the defendant before Chief Magistrate Festus Akinlolu on a three-count charge of burglary and stealing.
According to the prosecution, the offence was committed on November 9, 2024, at about 9:00 p.m. at Igbo Camp, Ore.
The prosecutor, Inspector James Usifoh, told the court that the defendant, along with others still at large, broke into the house of one Grace Adama with the intent to commit a felony.
He further alleged that the defendant and her accomplices stole clothes valued at N500,000, belonging to Adama Grace.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges when they were read to her.
Inspector Usifoh then requested an adjournment to enable him to review the case file and prepare his witnesses for trial.
The defence counsel, Mr Rufus Omotayo, did not oppose the adjournment but appealed to the court to grant his client bail on the most liberal terms.
Chief Magistrate Festus Akinlolu granted bail to the defendant in the sum of N100,000, with two sureties in like sum. He adjourned the case to December 20, 2024, for mention.
