A 45-year-old woman, Abimbola Adeoye, has been arraigned before an Akure Magistrate Court, for allegedly stealing cream and other items from a supermarket.

The defendant, whose address was not provided, was charged to court on a count of stealing.

The prosecutor, Simon Wada told the court that the defendant committed the offence on April 8, 2024 at about 10:30pm at a  supermarket in Alagbaka, Akure.

Wada alleged that the defendant stole the following items: one Medical cream 450 Gra valued at N3,300, Axe Dark temptation stray valued at N7000, Forvic Green Hellen Egg York valued at N1400, simple cleansing wash valued at N5000, one Dettol Antiseptic Liquid 165ml N2200, Dr. Brown baby wipe valued at N400, total valued at N19,700.

The offence, according to the charge, contravenes Section 390(9) of the Criminal Code Law of Ondo State, 2006.

The prosecutor prayed the court for an adjournment to open his case and assemble witnesses against the defendant.

The Magistrate, Kolawole A. Aro admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case till May 16, 2024 for hearing.
