Woman charged with unlawful assault of environmental officers in Ekiti

The police in Ekiti State have arraigned a 35-year old woman, Bosede Falodun, before the Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti for allegedly obstructing three Ekiti State environmental officers from performing their lawful duties.
The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that on March 24, at about 11:00 a.m., at Bisi Market in Ado-Ekiti, the defendant unlawfully assaulted three environmental officers.
Inspector Oriyomi further stated that on the same date, time, and location, the defendant damaged the service uniform of Fatomoye Faseun Abiodun, valued at ₦6,000.
The prosecutor added that the defendant conducted herself in a manner likely to cause a breach of the peace in the society.
Inspector Oriyomi said the offences committed contravened Sections 354 and 181(d) of the Criminal Laws of Ekiti State, Nigeria, 2021.
Defence counsel, Joy Raphael, urged the court to grant her client bail, assuring that she would not abscond.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Abayomi Adeosun, granted bail in the sum of ₦10,000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case till April 17 for hearing.
