Having spent over 90 days and still counting, Mrs. Olabisi Adeola, a hairdresser who was macheted by her husband has called on well meaning Nigerians and the government  to come to her aid over her welfare and that of her three children.

Olabisi, who spoke with The Hope Metro lamented that she could no longer afford the N200 daily accommodation for her children at the ‘Alaanu’ hostel within the hospital complex where they have been staying.

Wearing a sad look, Olabisi said she was yet to have sensational feelings on her left hand despite the series of physiotherapy done by the hospital to resuscitate her nerves.

She stressed that her faith is uncertain coupled with the threat she receives on daily basis through text messages and calls from her runaway husband who threatened to wipe her and her children off.

Her words, ”I am pleading with government to come to my aid and collaborate with the police to apprehend ‘Ajah,” because I am afraid. He is a man who can execute whatever plan he has.”

”’The help I got from  few individuals and the NCWS were not enough to cater for my welfare, including my children who have been staying with me in the hospital. I beg well meaning Nigerians to save me from my husband and not to let me die untimely.”

The consultant doctor in charge of Olabisi’s case, Dr Ikechuchukwu Ezeah had equally solicited social intervention  to cater for the woman’s welfare and the children.

Dr Ezeah said the management of the University of Medical Sciences has been giving her free medical assistance through the hospital’s social intervention programme which he assured would continue until she was discharged from the hospital.

Olabisi’s elder brother, Mr Olatunde Adeola, also appealed to the Ondo State government to help facilitate the effort of the police to get the runaway husband before he wreack more havoc.

According to him, he has been threatening because he still walks freely around the neighborhood.

Olatunde expressed disappointment that efforts of the police have not yielded any positive result over three months the incident had happened.

The leader of the Okitipupa National Council of Women’ Societies (NCWS), Mrs Kemi Akinnusi, who said Olabisi’s case needed urgent assistance, solicited government’s intervention to get justice for the victim.

She said  the culprit must be apprehended to serve as deterrent to others as well as prevent him from committing worse crime in the future.

Akinnusi appreciated the Regent of Ayeka, Barr. Oluyemi Bajowa, for sending N25,000 to Olabisi ,calling on the government and the people to also extend their assistance to Olabisi.

Meanwhile after a week that the police had launched a manhunt for the runaway husband, the police were yet to apprehend the culprit.

In a chat with the  Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr Tee Leo Ikoro, he said a file has been opened in respect of the case and that they have doubled their efforts to fish out the runaway husband.

Ikoro, who has just been transferred to the state, appealed to women organisations to exercise patience, assuring that the culprit would be apprehended soon.
