Construction work will soon commence on the Medical City project aimed at improving qualitative health care delivery in Ondo State, The Hope has gathered.
The medical projected which will be sited at Ilu Abo is expected to gulp $1.5 billion. On completion, it will house a multi specialist hospital among others.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Health, Prof. Dayo Faduyile disclosed this in a chat with The Hope in Akure last Wednesday.
According to him, government has put in place measures to ensure that the project takes off noting that it has provided large hectares of land, the C of O and enabling environment for both investor and financier for smooth operation.
Attributing the COVID-19 pandemic as the reason the project had been delayed, he hinted that all is set to ensure that work start on the site as soon as possible saying “hopefully before 30th of September, physical work will have started there.”
He noted that a firm has indicated interest in sourcing the fund to be invested and supporting government in making the dream a reality.
Speaking further, he said; “We are at the concluding stage of the planning where the firm has been able to get a financier and also a construction company.”
