The Ondo State chapter of the Youth Assembly of Nigeria (YAN) has joined forces with the AIKU Ever-Bright International Foundation (AEBIF) to deliver a Christmas outreach aimed at supporting the less privileged, including widows, orphans, and other vulnerable groups across the state.
The outreach began on Monday, 9th December 2024, targeting communities in the South Senatorial District, from Ile-Oluji to Odigbo and the riverine areas. The following day, Tuesday, 10th December, the initiative moved to the Ondo Central Senatorial District, covering Ondo West, Ondo East, and Akure North Local Government Areas.
The final leg of the outreach was held on Wednesday, 11th December, in the North Senatorial District, reaching communities in Owo, Ose, and the Akoko Local Governments.
Gratitude poured in from beneficiaries across the regions, with many offering prayers for the sustainability of the initiative. AIKU Ever-Bright International Foundation, known for its grassroots impact, expressed pride in its partnership with YAN for this cause.
Mr. Bright Adelegan, CEO of AEBIF, applauded YAN for its dedication to community development and described the partnership as pivotal in ensuring the outreach covered all 18 local government areas of Ondo State.
“The AIKU Ever-Bright International Foundation has always valued selfless service and community engagement. We hope to continue extending our support to those in need, even beyond Ondo State,” he stated.
Echoing this sentiment, Rt. Hon. Isaiah Oyawale, Speaker of YAN in Ondo State, reaffirmed the assembly’s commitment to youth empowerment and community service.
“The 4th Assembly of YAN in Ondo State is committed to public service and advocacy. We will continue to work towards positively impacting the lives of every youth, directly or indirectly. This is just the beginning, and more initiatives are in the pipeline,” Oyawale said.
Over 300 individuals benefited from the outreach, which was supported by YAN officers, ambassadors, and stakeholders. The collaborative effort between YAN and AEBIF highlights the importance of collective action in addressing societal challenges.
The initiative not only brought immediate relief to the destitute but also showcased the strength of unity in tackling social issues. Beneficiaries, regardless of their circumstances, experienced the positive impact of this outreach, underscoring the success of the partnership and the lasting benefits of community-driven efforts.
As concluded by the Clerk/Director of Media and Publicity of YAN, Amb. Eric O Ajayi “This outreach will have a lasting impact on the lives of over 300 destitutes who were reached, irrespective of their religious affiliation or ethnic divide, showcasing the positive outcomes that can result from genuine intentions and collaborative efforts.”
