You can’t compare any presidential candidate with Buhari – Ondo APC

The chairman of the Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Engr Ade Adetimehin, has described President, Muhammadu Buhari as incomparable with any presidential candidates of other political parties in the country.

He described president Buhari as a man of high integrity with outstanding antecedents whose exemplary leadership has positively affected the lives of the citizenry across the country.

He said no other candidates not even Atiku Abubakar of the PDP or Donald Duke of the SDP can stop Buhari from winning the 2019 general elections.

Adetimehin explained that Nigeria is so lucky to have president Muhammadu Buhari at the helm of affairs, especially in this time of economic challenges, adding that Buhari will lead the country to a promised land.

It would be recalled that the main opposition PDP had on Sunday picked former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar as its presidential candidate while the Social Democratic Party (SDP) picked a former governor of Cross Rivers, Donald Duke as its presidential candidate.

Candidates of other political parties also emerged at their various primaries.

According to the Adetimihin, among all other presidential candidates across other political parties in the country no one can pose any threat to the APC Presidential candidate, president Buhari, insisting that Buhari stands out among all in terms of accountability, integrity and transparency.

“You cannot compare them with Buhari. It is just like comparing the dead with the living soul, they are incomparable and they cannot pose any threat to APC presidential candidate. Everybody has his own characteristics; when you talk about integrity, accountability and transparency this is where you find Buhari. But let the antecedents of others speak for them.

“How do you measure popularity? You measure popularity based on the caliber, antecedents and achievements-what the person has been able to do in the past, the position he has held and how he used the position. Has he been found wanting? These are ways of judging one’s popularity. It is not just to say I’m popular,  I’m popular.

“Judging by the record and comparing Atiku with Buhari, one has won election, one has never won election. One has held office, the other has also held office. You also look into their past records, what have they been able to do to affect the lives of the citizenry. It is about your past, your integrity”, the chairman explained.

He boasted that Buhari will win the forthcoming election while other presidential candidates including Atiku of the PDP and Duke of the SDP will lose.

Adetimehin emphasised that the state chapter of the APC under his chairmanship and the governor Akeredolu  will ensure landslide victory for president Muhammadu Buhari at the poll.

“Politics is local, it is about the people. So, Ondo State is at home with president Muhammadu Buhari. You can also see that our state is doing well under Akeredolu and he has performed excellently well more than his predecessors. It is something we can see.

“Within one and a half year in office he had done much in the area of infrastructural development and other sectors of the economy. He has tarred more than 60 kilometers of roads across the nooks and crannies of the state. Look at the massive renovation of both primary and secondary schools across the 18 local government areas of the state.

“In my Ifedore federal constituency, you can count more than 15 schools that are undergoing reconstruction and renovation, ditto in Akure where we are. So, you cannot compare APC with any other party in Ondo state and Nigeria at large. This is not an exaggeration”, Adetimehin said.

On the protests that greeted the last Friday’s conduct of the party’s primaries, the APC Chairman described it as an internal affair which will be resolved using internal mechanism.
